Common Ground is offering a free support group for the parents of Larry Nassar survivors. Nassar was recently convicted of multiple counts of criminal sexual conduct (CSC) for the abuse he inflicted on more than 265 women and girls.
The Common Ground program is an 8-week, closed support group offering parents the opportunity to connect, gain support and begin the healing process. Sessions will include information on trauma, emotions, legal implications and the healing process. Participant sharing is optional but strongly encouraged.
The group will meet Mondays from 6:30 pm until 8:00 pm beginning May 7, 2018 and continuing until June 25, 2018. Sessions will be held at the Resource and Crisis Center at 1200 N. Telegraph Road, Building 32E in Pontiac MI 48341.
The sessions will be facilitated by Common Ground counselors.
The funding for this and all Victim Assistance programming comes via the Michigan Crime Victim Services Commission. For more information about this program including registration please contact Vivian Steinhilper at (248) 451-2622 or vsteinhilper@cghelps.org.
