All services at the Rochester Hills Resiliency Center are free and confidential.
Anyone who is struggling with the tragic event that happened at the Brooklands Splash Pad can come to the center for help and community connection. We will never be judgmental about any individual’s personal experience, connection to the shooting or their process of healing. We will meet each person where they are with the understanding that we all have unique reactions to traumatic events and heal at our own pace.
The center will be a safe place where people can come to connect with others and feel heard, validated, and supported. Once we open you can stop in anytime for a safe place to hang out, do an activity, enjoy a snack, and even snuggle a dog.
If you’re in an emergent crisis, please text, chat or call 988 for free and confidential counseling, information and referrals. The Lifeline is available 24/7 to people experiencing emotional distress, including thoughts of suicide, an active mental health or substance use crisis, etc.
In all other cases, we will do everything in our power to help. When you call Common Ground at 800-231-1127, a highly trained crisis specialist will answer the phone. They will take the time to listen to your situation, provide nonjudgmental support, and connect you to appropriate resources, if needed. Crisis workers are part of Common Ground, a non-profit organization that provides a wealth of resources for anyone in crisis. We are dedicated to getting you the care you need.
